MEET OUR NEW COACHES!
Cartoon Coach is proud to present to you,
Julia Troya-Perea and Griffin Calton
Cartoon Coach is grateful to have Julia and Griffin join us this season and looks forward to seeing how the artists respond to their unique perspective on drawing for Cartoons, Comics and Animation.
Julia Troya-Parea
Ever since she was young, drawing has been a part of Julia‘s world. What started as a childhood love grew into something much bigger—so much so that she decided to build a career around it. Aside from art, Julia enjoy cartoons, reading, writing my own stories, exercising, trying new foods, watching horror movies, and spending time with her dog.
In college, she studied illustration—specifically children’s illustration and comics—as well as animation. Since then, Julia has been fortunate enough to work on a variety of projects for Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube. As an illustrator, Julia has taken on all sorts of projects, from designing logos and portraits to selling stickers and more. Her style often leans towards cute, bubbly characters, but she enjoys inserting a subtle, eerie touch, into her creations that makes them unique.
Along her journey, Julia also found a love for teaching. While she was in school, Julia taught art to children in a program that helped them tap into their creativity. It was such a rewarding experience, and she’s so excited for the opportunity to share her insights with the artists at Cartoon Coach.

Griffin Calton
Griffin grew up with a pencil in one hand and cartoons on the brain, drawing non-stop from an early age. His grandma, an artist herself, used to sketch Griffin’s favorite characters—Spider-Man, TMNT, Sonic, Transformers—until he took the leap and started doing it himself. From then on, he was hooked.
To Griffin, Cartoons were magic. His desire to learn and harness that magic set him on a path of intense study through High School and College. Soon after, he was ready to bring his own creations to life.
Griffin has had the great pleasure of working on projects for Disney, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and even Youtube! He is particularly fond of his time working on, Armadillo Avalanche, a wild ride for kids, and available on YouTube! (see below)
Besides his passion for cartoons and animation Griffin is big fan of anything that gets his heart racing— exercising, skateboarding, or splashing paint across a canvas.
Griffin is super excited to share what he’s learned about drawing for Cartoons and Animation with all the wonderfully creative artists at Cartoon Coach!
